This is Channy Treng.
She lives in Outaput Village, Siemreap with her family.
She is 20 years old and usually spends her time either fishing with her father and brother or doing housework with her mother and sister. Channy always dreamed of a better future for her and her family. In 2012 Bridge of Life non profit Organisation opened in her village. They started a pre primary and clean water project. In 2018 they opened a new sewing course project which Channy applied for. She successfully completed the course and was given her own sewing machine. This enabled her to create her own business and work
from home.
Channy’s own words ‘ Thank you to Bridge of life school for providing me with a skill set and Jannie for giving me this opportunity to make her wig bags.
Channy’s parents like many in Cambodia didn’t want their daughter to leave home and work in the city so this has given the family the best solution.
