Supporting local women

Non-profit organisation 'Bridge of Life' provide educational related programs for under-resourced communities in the Cambodian countryside. In 2018, a sewing course and co-operative was established for unemployed women to earn income and create a better life for themselves. Virgin Hair Cambodia have teamed up with Bridge for Life to employ these talented women to create our beautiful silk wig bags.

Channy Treng's Story

Channy2.png

Channy lives in Outaput Village, Siem Reap with her family. She is 20 years old and usually spends her time either fishing with her father and brother to earn money, or doing housework with her mother and sister. Channy always dreamed of a better future for her and her family. After Channy successfully completed Bridge of Life's sewing program, she was given her own sewing machine which enabled her to create her own business and work from home. Channy’s parents like many in Cambodia didn’t want their daughter to leave home and work in the city so this has given the family the best solution.

Channy’s own words:

‘Thank you to Bridge of life school for providing me with a skill set and Jannie for giving me this opportunity to make her wig bags'.
